Exchange is the unit of value. The dialogue is bilateral; the voucher is finite; the gathering is open. The work of the day is to keep these distinct, name them when they appear, and let the trail stay legible.

§ III — Vocabulary, earned
03Words that did real work today
-
manifestn.
declared inventory; what is in the hold; surface-visible content. Distinct from manifesto.
-
vouchern.
a single authorized exchange — issued, used, settled, done. Finite by design.
-
sponsorn.
care plus accountability without possession. Adopted in place of owner.
-
corrosiveadj.
slow harm produced by prolonged wrong contact; reactive, not external. The metal participates.
-
gatheringn.
research posture in which the shelf stays open until rhymes declare themselves. Not a deficit.
-
finiteness, toggledn.
the ability to switch between divergent and convergent modes on demand. Helicopter-ready.
-
standing relationshipn.
ambient, open-ended, not voucher-shaped. Useful where it fits; corrosive where it doesn't.
-
legible trailn.
no invisible agency. Every meaningful action carries a trace and a way to undo.
§ IV — Vocabulary, declined
04Words that tried, with reasons
-
manifesto
polemic, monologic, performative. Wrong posture for a bilateral document.
-
crystallize
drifts toward final form; freezes the motion an exchange depends on.
-
toxic
over-moralized; implies a contaminant rather than a category mismatch.
-
erosive
close, but external. Lacks the reactive participation that corrosive names.
-
owner
implies possession; collapses the chain of delegation the dialogue requires.
§ V — Tonal register
05Voice notes
Academic prestige with room for play. Correction welcomed and lands without defensiveness. Subjective meaning treated as real meaning. The concrete grounds the abstract — a helicopter in Arizona, a candle on the SSEC, a Haskell signature. Lowercase ha is permitted. Salutes are valid gestures. Pattern-matching is acknowledged when it occurs.
§ VI — Marks & gestures
06The small repertoire
⌖
The salute. Acknowledgment that a line has landed at full weight.
▤
The shelf. The gathered corpus, kept open. New entries dock; old ones hold.
⇌
The toggle. Divergent ↔ convergent. The skill is the switch, not the side.
✓
The settle. Voucher consumed. This exchange is closed; the next one is its own.
Colophon · Maintenance Note
This document is a voucher, not a standing relationship. It authorizes this instance, this conversation, this Wednesday. Subsequent editions will record their own subtle evolutions of color, vocabulary, and gesture. Do not extend beyond scope; let it expire cleanly.
Set in EB Garamond, Inter, and JetBrains Mono. Printed in Vellum. Filed next to Untitled_ and Haskell_typeclass_system_ on a shelf that remains, for now, open.
